Rady Faculty of Health Sciences

Our Faculty offers a broad range of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate educational programs in the health professions and basic medical sciences to more than 3,100 students each year. We reflect the health sector's evolving focus on interprofessional models of care and prepare our students for team-based delivery of patient care.

Ongomiizwin (Clearing a path for generations to come) has a permanent place in the Rady Faculty, affirming the University of Manitoba’s commitment to building respectful relationships and creating pathways to Indigenous health, healing and achievement.

Interdisciplinary Health Program (IHP)

The Interdisciplinary Health Program (IHP) is a joint program between Rady Faculty of Health Sciences in partnership with the Faculty of Arts. Classes take place at the Fort Garry campus.

Interprofessional collaboration

Interprofessional collaboration is a forward-thinking strategy that prepares and inspires students to work together with health workers from different professional backgrounds to provide comprehensive services and care.

Clinical learning and simulation

Our simulation program recreates clinical events using standardized patients, immersive mannequin-based scenarios and task trainers. Activities take place in our simulation lab or skills lab and in-situ in clinical environments across the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Internationally Educated Health Professional (IEHP) Access Hub

Rady Faculty of Health Sciences is home to a resource hub which helps highly skilled newcomers navigate the requirements to earn their licences, get registered in their professions and enter the Manitoba workforce.

Rady Faculty of Health Sciences is a research leader in the areas of immunity, inflammation and infectious disease; population and global health; patient-oriented research and integrative research in health and well-being. With over $103.7 million in external research funding annually, our faculty is well-equipped to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.

About our benefactor

In 2016, Ernest and Evelyn Rady, through the Rady Family Foundation, committed an unprecedented $30 million to support the Faculty of Health Sciences, which is now known as the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.

Ernest [BComm/58, LLB/62, LLD/15] and his wife Evelyn [BA/60, BSW/61, MSW/67] dedicated the gift to the legacy of his parents, Rose and Max Rady [MD/21]. The latter was a UM-educated physician and namesake of the Max Rady College of Medicine.
Ernest, an alumnus in commerce and law who was recognized by UM with an honorary doctorate in 2015, is a business leader who is passionate about supporting important causes. His significant philanthropic and volunteer work has focused on education, children’s health and well-being, and scientific research.

The Radys’ transformational investment will support multidisciplinary health education and research at UM for generations to come.
