UMSU University Centre - 1st floor

A range of student services and commercial businesses are available on the 1st floor, including the UM BookStore, University Health Service, a convenience store, optician, food court and more.

UM BookStore

The UM BookStore has everything students need, from textbooks, course materials and supplies to branded UM merchandise. Computers on Campus and Starbucks can also be found in-store.

CAMPO Food Court

The CAMPO Food Court offers various dining options for students, as well as cafeteria-style tables and seating.

Fireplace Lounge

Fireplace Lounge is a place to meet up with friends, relax and attend student events. Depending on the week, you may see information tables, student club events, or pop-up shops and vendors nearby.

G.P.A.’s Campus Convenience

Owned and operated by students, G.P.A.’s is open to pick up cold drinks, coffee, sandwiches, snacks and other convenience items.

UMSU Service Centre

The University of Manitoba Students’ Union (USMU) provides support, advocacy and services to all UM students. Visit the UMSU Service Centre for information about getting involved, clubs and student organizations, health and dental programs, Winnipeg Transit products, the U-Pass and many other UMSU services.

 

UMSU University Centre - 2nd floor

Campus events including conferences, research competitions and concerts are held in the 2nd floor multi-purpose rooms. Student Experience and Development, the Graduate Students’ Association, and a Tim Horton’s coffee shop can also be found on the 2nd floor.

Student Experience and Development

Student Experience and Development offers leadership, peer mentoring and community service-learning programs that will enhance your student experience. Drop by the Student Experience and Development office for more information about how to get involved, both on and off-campus.

 

UMSU University Centre - 3rd floor

The 3rd floor features a number of restaurants and social spaces, many of which are owned and operated by the University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU). 101.5 UMFM – UM’s official campus and community radio station – is located beside Degrees Restaurant.

IQs Café and Billiards

Stop by IQs for a coffee or snack, to play some pool or just catch up with friends.

Degrees Restaurant

Degrees is a licensed restaurant that offers an eclectic array of fast yet healthy food, with cuisine ranging from Italian to Indian. Menu items include hamburgers, falafel, and made-from-scratch baking, as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

The VW Social Club

Drop by this licensed pub, restaurant and event space to grab lunch, dinner or drinks with friends. A number of student club events, including karaoke nights, are hosted here.

 

UMSU University Centre - 4th floor

The 4th floor is home to many important offices for students, including Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Awards, the Registrar’s Office and Career Services. Students can also access private and confidential personal counselling through the Student Counselling Centre.

Registrar’s Office

A key information hub, the Registrar’s Office oversees academic records, transcripts, course registration, exam scheduling and creation of student ID cards.

Career Services

Career Services provides career planning and job search advice to current UM students and alumni. Meet with a career consultant to work on your resume, cover letter or interview skills and access a wide range of employment resources.

Financial Aid and Awards

In addition to overseeing the UM Food Bank, the Financial Aid and Awards office provides information about scholarships, bursaries, government student loans and how to access funding so you can focus on your studies.

Contact the Undergraduate Admissions office if you require any help or assistance with completing your application for admission, document submission or paying your application fee.

 

UMSU University Centre - 5th floor

The 5th floor is home to many important offices for international and graduate students, including the International Centre, English Language Centre and Graduate Admissions.

International Centre

A hub for all things global, the International Centre provides inter-cultural and exchange programs for all UM students, as well as advising, resources and orientation activities for international students.

English Language Centre (ELC) - Student Support

The ELC provides courses, tests, accommodations and individual support to students whose first language is not English in order to support academic success and participation in the UM community. A number of important service offices for all UM students are also located in this space, including Student Accessibility Services, Student Advocacy and Case Management, and Student Support.
