Elizabeth Dafoe Library
Named for the UM’s chief librarian from 1937-1960, Dafoe Library is the largest library on campus and serves the research needs of students across a variety of programs. Throughout its three floors you will find computer labs, group study rooms, services such as writing tutors, and Archives and Special Collections.
Common room
The Dafoe Library boasts the most available study space for students of any library on campus, including this large common room (featuring Starbucks coffee) on the main floor.
The Iceland Reading Room
A world-class facility, The Icelandic Collection section is home to The Iceland Reading Room, which features state-of-the-art reading, seminar and study rooms. The Dr. Paul Thorlakson Gallery showcases exhibitions ranging from ancient Icelandic sagas to contemporary artwork by Icelandic artists.
