Study with us
With four accredited professional programs, an undergraduate degree in Environmental Design, and a PhD in Design and Planning, the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Architecture is home to students of all levels who gather to develop design skills, technical abilities, critical thinking and leadership.
Each of our programs features a series of project-based studios in which students produce designs and plans that address issues of varying complexity. In all programs, studio work is supported by rigorous seminar and lecture courses that address theoretical, historical and technical issues.
Undergraduate program: Environmental Design
The Bachelor of Environmental Design program is a strong multidisciplinary undergraduate degree that provides a solid base of design education for students intending to pursue careers or graduate studies in a wide variety of disciplines, including the Faculty's master's degrees in Architecture, City Planning, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture, and at other institutions globally.
Environmental Design
The Environmental Design program consists of two foundation years and two intermediate years in one of three streams:
- Architecture
- Interior Environments
- Landscape + Urbanism
Students who do not already have an undergraduate degree and wish to pursue a professional degree in Architecture, City Planning, Interior Design or Landscape Architecture can apply for admission to the Environmental Design program.
Students who have an undergraduate degree and wish to pursue a professional degree in Architecture can apply for admission to the one-year or two-year Environmental Design Architecture Master Preparation options.
All other students with an undergraduate degree pursuing a professional degree in City Planning, Interior Design or Landscape Architecture should apply directly to the graduate program of their choice.
