Program details

The Max Rady College of Medicine in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences offers a two-year Surgery (MSc) as an additional certification to current surgery residents.

Expected duration:

  • 2 years

Degree requirements:

  • MD degree; currently enrolled in a postgraduate residency program in the College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba.

Estimated tuition and fees:

  • Program fees are assessed in the first two terms of study, followed by a continuing fee in the third and any subsequent terms.

Admission requirements

  • To be considered for entry into the Surgery (MSc) Medical Graduate Program, you must meet the following minimum requirements. However, meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

    In addition to the admission requirements listed in the Graduate Studies Regulations Section of the Academic Calendar, this program is only available to MD degree holders who are currently enrolled in a postgraduate residency program at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. Since residents will incorporate this program into their residency training, concurrent curriculum registration is required.

    Besides these specific requirements, all applicants must also meet the minimum admission and English language proficiency requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

The name of your preferred supervisor is required at the time of application.
