Program objectives
The objectives of the program are to:
- provide an introduction to contemporary business management in the Canadian context
- provide advanced introductions to principles of team leadership and communications within a business context
- provide professional development in additional general, specialized, and/or industry-specific topics in business and management, according to participant and partner needs
Customize your program
Work with us to create and offer your own Applied Management (CAM) program for employees or members. Applied Management is customizable professional development with core courses and a selection of elective courses. Learners earn a UM certificate.
Program courses
All CAMs begin with the three core courses. As a partner, you will provide your employees with the electives for your organization’s customized CAM. Your electives will be chosen from our groups of options, we may approve recognition of your professional development offerings or we may create new elective content for you. Let’s consider the possibilities.
Some examples of what your CAM could look like:
- Core courses + Courses from one group of electives
- Core courses + Courses from two or more groups of electives
- Core courses + Partner courses or workshops
Elective courses
You will choose them. A minimum of 72 contact hours are required. To create your customized CAM, we will help you to select from among our many elective course options. We may also approve recognition of your professional development offerings or create new elective content for you.
