Home to the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources, the Wallace Building –named for the UM’s first professor of geology and mineralogy – houses programs such as earth sciences, environmental studies and geography.

One of the most recognizable buildings on campus, the Tier Building houses classrooms and offices for the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Social Work and University 1 – our flexible first-year program for new students.

Pembina Hall is the newest of six student residence buildings on the Fort Garry campus and is home to new and returning students. The building connects to Mary Speechly Hall residence and the Fresh Food Company dining hall.

Migizii Agamik – which translates from Anishinaabe to English as Bald Eagle Lodge – serves as the centre of the Indigenous community on campus and is home to the Indigenous Student Centre and the UM Access Program.

Named for Dr. Helen Glass, a UM professor and founder of the Manitoba Nursing Research Institute, Helen Glass Centre features numerous skills and simulation labs where nursing and midwifery students can practice caring for patients in hospital-like settings.

Home of the Price Faculty of Engineering, the multi-building EITC complex contains numerous engineering classrooms and labs and connects to the Stanley Pauley Engineering Building, one of the newest buildings on campus.

The activity hub of the Fort Garry campus, UMSU University Centre is home to the UM BookStore, the University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU), numerous food and dining options, and a range of student services and commercial businesses. Located in the heart of campus, the building is also a popular conference, meeting and event centre.

Bringing together the Desautels Faculty of Music, the School of Art, and the Faculty of Arts’ theatre program in one historic complex, this former student residence building now features state-of-the-art facilities for music creativity, performance and research.
