Visit campus in person

The Fort Garry campus is located in south Winnipeg. Come and see for yourself to get an inside look at what makes the UM one of the top 15 research-intensive universities in Canada.

Mask requirement

Masks are required for all campus visitors – KN95 (recommended) or 3-ply medical masks (minimum ASTM Grade 2) must be worn during your visit. Proof of vaccination is not required.

COVID-19 screening

Please complete the COVID-19 self-screening checklist prior to your visit. Do not attend events on campus if you or any of your party is sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined in the self-screening checklist.

    Join current students and staff for a guided tour of the Fort Garry campus in south Winnipeg. We’ll show you the different buildings and classrooms where students spend the majority of their time at university and introduce you to our academic programs and services. Allow approximately two hours for your visit.

Minnesota Student Day: Friday, October 21

Students and families from Minnesota are invited to join us on campus for a tour, residence visit and an overview of our application process. Choose one of two sessions. Space is limited, register today!

Note: Only ONE registration per attending family or group is required, do not submit multiple registrations for students attending as part of the same group. Register for only one of the sessions listed below.

Indigenous student tours

The Indigenous Student Recruitment team works one-on-one with prospective Indigenous students and their families, as well as Indigenous school groups. Northern and rural Indigenous students, families and schools are encouraged to contact the Indigenous Student Recruitment team by email at Indigenous_Recruitment@umanitoba.ca to arrange a personalized campus visit.

Planning your visit

All campus tours depart from the 2nd floor of UMSU University Centre – guests are encouraged to park in the University Centre parkade. Visitors from outside of Winnipeg are encouraged to visit Tourism Winnipeg for information about accommodations, dining and attractions in the City of Winnipeg. 

Group tours

Campus tours for school groups or parties of five students or more are available by request and should be booked directly with Student Recruitment. Please contact us at Student_Recruitment@umanitoba.ca to make arrangements for your group’s visit.
