The Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship drives entrepreneurial awareness through the development and growth of new ventures. Students can participate in competitions including three major business planning events at the graduate, undergraduate and high school level.
The second annual Asper Business Case Competition will be a three-day event focused on testing and challenging students in an exciting environment that lends itself to amplifying your immersive and experiential learning.
The Asper School of Business offers academic and cultural exchange opportunities for students at all levels to expand their horizons.
Examine the interplay between culture, economic development, management systems and strategies in a selected country. Establish an international business network while earning course credit. Previous graduate students have participated in study trips in Brazil, Hong Kong, Dubai, Finland, Tanzania and Malaysia.
Through the Asper Exchange Program, undergraduate and graduate students travel the world, meet new people and experience beautiful new cultures. Previous exchange participants have studied in business schools in a wide range of countries across Asia, Europe, and Central and South America. This program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to add more adventure to your university experience.
Undergraduate students will explore Winnipeg, Toronto and Israel with students and faculty from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. Visit industries in both countries and participate in cultural and tourist activities, including a dip in the Dead Sea and a camel ride. Over the course of a few weeks, students will earn academic credit, learn about a new culture and make lifelong friends.
The Asper School of Business connects undergraduate and graduate students with business veterans through a wide range of mentoring programs.
The Asper graduate mentorship programs connect Asper MBA, Master of Finance, and Master of Supply Chain students with inspirational leaders in Winnipeg and across Canada. Through group or one-on-one mentoring this flexible program will meet the unique needs of Stu Clark Graduate School students while adapting to the mentor's schedule.
UM Café invites undergraduate and graduate students to share a virtual cup of coffee with alumni and industry partners. This exclusive online network provides the potential to connect and gain industry-specific knowledge, hear proven-advice, and build relationships to enhance your personal network.
Undergraduate and graduate student entrepreneurs can connect with the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship Venture Coach - no matter what stage their business is in. This resource provides coaching, guidance and mentorship to help start, build and scale students’ businesses.
The President's Student Leadership Program is a unique-in-Canada immersive learning opportunity that brings undergraduate and graduate students together from across disciplines, post-secondary institutions, interests, and regions of the province to build their leadership potential. It is the flagship program of the James W. Burns Leadership Institute at the Asper School of Business.

This course provides undergraduate students hands-on consulting experience and an opportunity to give back to the community. Students actively work with small businesses in Manitoba to help find solutions to their current challenges. Projects will be conducted individually or in small groups.
This experiential course prepares undergraduate students for case competitions such as JDC West, ICBC, Ted Rogers, and select international case competitions. Undergraduate students participating in JDC West are encouraged to take this course.
This course provides graduate students with solid practical knowledge about a developing subject in business, to understand both implications and potential applications for organizations and their leadership today and in the future.
The Co-op program allows undergraduate students to get paid and earn academic credit while using the use knowledge learned in the classroom in real-world, productive work environments. The program gives students the opportunity to explore different career paths and build a professional network to kick-start their career.
Our students run national-level conferences that demonstrate their leadership excellence and dedication in generating values for the business community.
The Commerce Business Banquet has brought Asper students and members of the Manitoba business community together for a night of networking since 1967. The event is completely organized and run by students, and has grown to include over 500 students and professionals in attendance each year. In addition to networking on the night of the event, the organizing committee learns what it takes to organize an event of this magnitude, from marketing to securing a high profile guest speaker.
National Business School Conference (NBSC) is one of the premiere business student conferences in Canada. NBSC is an annual three-day conference that brings together Canada’s next generation of business leaders together including Business Students’ Association executives and JDC West Captains representing business schools across the country. NBSC is a forum for these students to share and discuss challenges they currently face, as well as be inspired by local Manitoba business leaders.
