Biography

Trina McFadyen graduated from Robson Hall in 2000 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2001 and the Alberta Bar in 2005. She summered in Cargill’s legal department and articled at Aikins MacAulay & Thorvaldson. Following her call to the Manitoba Bar, she practiced civil litigation at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman and later joined the litigation department at The Great-West Life Assurance Company. After over a decade of being a lawyer, Trina took time away from law to stay home with her two children while continuing to work part-time and volunteer for various community organizations.

In March 2021, Trina returned to law as the Director of Professional Development at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law where she creates and implement programs to assist law students with employment and professional opportunities, works in collaboration with the various student groups, and further develops relationships with Robson Hall alumni, the local legal community, national and international organizations, as well as the Law Society of Manitoba and the MBA. She is leads the law school’s alumni initiatives, is the EDI liaison with the University of Manitoba at large, and the Chair of the EDI Committee.
