Biography

John is currently the Executive Director of the MLRC. John is a staff member at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law. He has a BA in criminal justice and graduated with an LLB (JD) from Robson Hall law school in 2010. He was called to the bar in 2011. He received his LLM from Osgoode Hall in 2015. He has been a peer reviewer for the Manitoba Law Journal since 2016.

A published author, John was previously the Chief of Staff for the Winnipeg Police Service, a Crown Attorney, and an Associate Risk Manager. He was also a police officer for 25 years, working commercial crimes, hate crimes, and major crimes. Besides the MLRC, John also sits on a number of Boards including the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, Rossbrook House, and the  Winnipeg Police Museum.
