Program details
The Diploma in Agriculture is a hands-on two-year program designed for those who plan to manage farms or pursue careers in the agricultural and food service and/or value added sectors.
Expected duration: 2 years
Students are required to complete a minimum of 93 credit hours of study.
Students must complete the course requirements for the program core and one of the four program options to specialize in an area of interest.

Graduates of the Agriculture Diploma program meet education eligibility requirements to register with Agrologists Manitoba as Technical Agrologists (Tech.Ag.).

Admission requirements
The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Diploma in Agriculture program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college. Direct entry applicants require the following:
- A minimum average of 60 per cent over the following:
- English 40S
- Mathematics 40S or 45S
- One of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Computer Science 40S
Advanced Entry is for applicants who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Admission decisions are based on the applicant's qualifications and the ability of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and the University of Manitoba to serve the applicant’s intended program of study and area of specialization.
