Program details
This program is for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Information for international students who wish to study with us can be found at Intensive program packages.
Credential: Earn a University of Manitoba Certificate in Applied Counselling.
Fees: $4,725 for required courses, plus electives and $100 non-refundable application fee.

Expected duration: 2 to 5 years, part-time
Course requirements: Students must complete COUN 0100 first, and their Capstone course last. All courses in the ACC program are screening courses and students must adhere to the personal suitability criteria throughout the entire program. They must obtain a minimum grade of C+ in each course and maintain 90 percent attendance in order to receive a passing grade.
Synchronous sessions: At this time, almost all classes are being offered through live, online sessions. Classes are usually held on weekday evenings, and some Saturdays during the day. Counselling Skills courses each include one Saturday class held in person at the Fort Garry campus. Class dates and times can be found on our course registration page.
Choice of General Stream or Specialization in Addictions Studies: All courses are now offered by UM Extended Education.

- Select your program and pay your application fee.
- Submit your required documents within two weeks of completing your application form.
You must be admitted to a program in order to graduate with your credential.
