Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • define and characterize the theory of anger and styles of anger
  • identify and explain the personal costs of anger
  • identify anger triggers, distortions and sequences
  • employ anger reduction techniques and strategies by using problem-solving and communication skills
  • demonstrate knowledge of Beck’s Cognitive Therapy to distinguish between thoughts and feelings in practitioner-client discussions
  • personalize and supplement anger management resources for everyday practice
  • examine his/her own anger history and style
  • recognize the importance of self-reflection and self-care
