Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- identify and discuss the key characteristics of various counselling approaches and theories
- compare and contrast counselling theories through discussion, case illustration and application of theoretical approaches to counselling situations and populations
- develop a continued self-awareness, identity and personal style in counselling
- examine and articulate his or her own personal beliefs and values around the counselling process
- use personal reflection and assessment to create a frame of reference in order to develop his or her own philosophy and personal style of counselling
- examine ethical issues relevant to counselling practice
