Alumni

We invite our alumni to stay in touch and get involved with the Education faculty in a variety of ways. You are represented by the Education Alumni Association (EAA), which hosts Education Homecoming each year and provides teacher awards and teacher candidate scholarships in support of current and future teachers.

All Education alumni are welcome to attend EAA meetings, and we welcome new executive members.

Education Homecoming

Each September, the EAA hosts Education Homecoming during the same week of U of M's annual homecoming events.

Education Homecoming is a great way to reconnect with alumni and faculty, network and meet new faculty members.

EAA sponsored awards and student scholarships

The EAA recognizes the important work of students, educators, and administrators demonstrating excellence, creativity and initiative, and a positive commitment to the field of education. See each of the awards below for details and to nominate a deserving educator or educational administrator in your school or division by June 30.

MyWorldAbroad

University of Manitoba alumni and current students can access a free online resource to help them find and prepare for employment anywhere in the world. MyWorldAbroad has an entire section dedicated to the teaching profession, which is still one of the most portable fields and one of the biggest areas of overseas employment.

For teachers, a section of the guide offers testimonials from teachers who have taught around the globe and strategies for different levels of teaching experience. It also provides information on the job search, application, and hiring processes. In addition, alumni will find guidance on resumé writing, the job contract, and direction on how to move for the new job.
