Halyna is part of the Science of Teaching and Learning team at The Centre. She works collaboratively to implement initiatives related to the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).
Halyna has more than 30 years’ experience in post-secondary education. Halyna obtained her Master of Arts in Romance and Germanic Languages and Linguistics, followed by her Ph.D. in Professional Learning Theory. Prior to joining The Centre, Halyna taught communication theory, translation pedagogy, and research methods to undergraduate and graduate students, conducted workshops with in-service teachers, and helped teachers at varied career stages to improve their practices.
Halyna has a passion for teaching and research. She maintains an active research agenda in teaching and learning, focusing on teaching strategies. She also remains active as a researcher of the pragmatics of translation.
When not at The Centre, Halyna enjoys reading, music, and spending time with family.
