Learn your program requirements

Stay on track with your program requirements

As a student at the University of Manitoba, it’s your responsibility to understand the program and graduation requirements for your chosen field of study. To ensure a smooth registration experience, familiarize yourself with the courses and requirements specific to your program.

What courses do I need to take?

Course registration is more than just selecting classes from a list. You’ll need to be aware of program-specific requirements that go beyond coursework. Some courses must be taken in a certain sequence, while others may need to be completed together.

You can find the details of your academic program requirements in your faculty, school, or program section of the Academic Calendar.

Important: Stay updated on academic rules and requirements

Rules may change over time. Some students will follow the rules that were in place when they were admitted, while others may need to adapt to new ones. This can vary by faculty, school, or program, so make sure you stay informed.

For any questions about your program’s rules and requirements, contact your advising office.

Prioritize your planning

Take this opportunity to reflect on your career goals and plan your priorities as a student. Time management and thoughtful course scheduling will help set you up for success.

For guidance, visit the U1 First Year Centre and the Career Services Centre.

Course Catalogue

The Course Catalogue is a comprehensive list of approved courses available through the University. Please note that this is not a schedule of classes; rather, it includes potential courses that may be offered in a given term.
