Graduation and convocation

Undergraduate students: must declare their graduation on Aurora. If your desired graduation term is not listed on Aurora or you have missed the deadline, contact your advisor as soon as possible. Undergraduate students can declare their graduation by following these steps:

1. Locate the Apply to Graduate card
2. Select Declare Graduation Date
3. Enter your Graduation date from the drop-down menu

Graduate students : (Diploma, Master's and Ph.D. program) are not able to declare their intent to graduate through Aurora. The Faculty of Graduate Studies, along with your home unit, will determine when students have completed their requirements.

Graduating students will receive communication and instructions from the Registrar's Office as Convocation approaches.

These communications will break down the graduation process and let you know what you need to do before graduation. The communications cover topics such as:

• Confirming your legal name is correct on our records.
• Confirming your address is up to date on Aurora.
• Confirming the degree you are receiving. 

Official communication will be sent to your myumanitoba email, ensure you check often for updates.

Notice to graduates: If you are having issues renting your gown, please ensure that you enter your student number with two zeros in front. Ie. “001234567”. If you have done this, and are still facing issues, please contact graduation.convocation@umanitoba.ca.
