Focus Area

A focus area is a requirement for the Environmental Studies and Environmental Science programs and should be considered starting in second year.

A focus area is an individualized approach to undergraduate study, developed in collaboration with an academic advisor, that organizes courses from multiple subject areas around a central theme, topic, or set of related issues.

Through student-driven research and exploration of academic and career interests, a focus area supports the development of knowledge and skills needed for further study and entry into the workforce.

Articulation Agreement

Articulation agreements are formal partnerships between institutions that recognize prior learning completed at one institution toward a specific program or credential at another. The Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources has an articulation agreement with University College of the North that allows students who have completed the Natural Resources Management Technology (NRMT) Diploma to continue into the Bachelor of Environmental Science or Bachelor of Environmental Studies programs.
