Natural Resources Institute

Natural Resources Institute
The Natural Resources Institute is interdisciplinary, integrating knowledge gained from the natural and social sciences to develop holistic perspectives on environmental and natural resources management problems. Research conducted at the NRI may have an economic, social, or ecological perspective, or may integrate all three disciplines.
Centre for Earth Observation Science

Research at the Centre for Earth Observation Science (CEOS) is multidisciplinary and collaborative, seeking to understand the complex interrelationships between elements of Earth systems, and how these systems will likely respond to climate change. Although researchers have worked in many regions, the Arctic marine system has always been a unifying focus of activity.
Environment and Geography

Research in Department of Environment and Geography ranges across the physical sciences, social sciences and humanities. From climate change to reconciliation, wildlife conservation to energy production, and water quality to environmental governance, the department’s interdisciplinary expertise is contributing to our understanding of the changing global environment.
Department of Earth Sciences

Recognized as one of Canada's top geoscience units, the Department of Earth Sciences is leading research in Canada and around the world in Earth System Science, which involves the interaction between the atmosphere, cryosphere/hydrosphere, biosphere and geosphere, transcending disciplinary boundaries (physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and geology) to treat the Earth as an integrated system.
