Role

Randi creates materials, presentations and workshops about decolonization, strength-based approaches, and Indigenous pedagogies. She also works with faculty to assist them implementing Indigenous knowledge in their teaching and curriculum development. 

Biography

Randi is currently working on her Master of Education.  She is originally from Treaty 4 territory and grew up in Regina Saskatchewan. She is a member of the Métis Nation in Manitoba. Randi graduated with her Bachelor of Education in 2003 and spent her teaching career in various First Nations communities on Treaty 4 territory.  She has also worked as an Employment Counsellor, a Program Coordinator in a shelter in Regina where she was responsible for the Teen housing program and the Halfway House. Randi moved to Winnipeg in 2017 where she began work at CAHRD as a Teacher, moving on to the Literacy Coordinator position and the Assistant Director of Education. Indigenous education and community work is Randi’s passion, and she hopes to utilize her experiences with front line work in the community to educate about strength-based approaches and decolonial practices.
