Role
Farhana supports as a coordinator for the Graduate Teaching Program (GTP). Farhana provides support to faculty, staff, and graduate students. She collaborates with Centre members to develop and facilitate workshops, teaching development initiatives, and consultations.
Biography
Farhana was born and raised in Bangladesh and has a strong background in education and research. She has held both academic and administrative roles at the secondary and post-secondary levels in both Bangladesh and Canada. During her tenure as an instructor in Bangladesh, she was deeply involved in adult learning and the professional development of teachers. Her Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of Manitoba, has inspired her to explore further opportunities within the Canadian education system. Prior to joining the Centre, her experience as an educational assistant allowed her to integrate her pedagogical expertise and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of inclusion. This experience has reinforced her belief in the need for a context-driven approach to education, one that empowers learners and amplifies their performance. She believes that giving learners agency is essential, enabling them to view the system from an insider's perspective and driving meaningful change.
Farhana is passionate about the professional development of teachers, recognizing its significant impact on overall educational quality. Her areas of interest include academic leadership, decolonizing education, and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in post-secondary education.
