Role

Johnathan is an Educational Developer. He supports faculty, staff, and graduate students with workshops and consultations. He is involved in the Teaching and Learning Certificate Program with The Centre as well as other projects as needed.

Biography

​​After graduating with an undergraduate degree in theatre, Johnathan was a founding member of the theatre companies Avera and Der Geist Theatre. With these companies he co-created several original devised theatre pieces. Der Geist moved to Copenhagen, Denmark in 2008 to perform their work. This creative and unconventional methodology has informed how he approaches all his professional work.  

​Johnathan has a long professional history in human services. He has provided supports to adults labelled with intellectual disabilities in a variety of settings since 2000. He has also taught in the Disability and Community Support Program at RRC Polytech. He graduated with an Interdisciplinary Masters in Disability Studies from the University of Manitoba in 2021.  

​His work is guided by the social model of disability, human rights, and a belief that creative collaborations generate beautiful results. ​
