Competitive salaries and benefits package

The University of Manitoba is proud to offer competitive salaries, as well as a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees that includes group health, dental, vision care, enhanced paramedical coverage, disability coverage, and mental health coverage along with a pension. Eligible retired staff members may also receive health and dental benefits.

Employee and family assistance

UM offers an Employee and Family Assistance Program through Kii by CloudMD that provides access to immediate, confidential help and counselling for any concern. Through this program, employees and their families have free, 24/7 access to mental health professionals, wellness counselling and legal advice. Highlights of the program include culturally sensitive counselling—with counsellors experienced in numerous issues affecting the BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ communities—Elder and Knowledge Keeper Indigenous mental health supports and therapist-led internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy.

Pension

The UM Pension Plan provides several pension options for full-time staff and faculty, including contribution matching up to a certain amount.

Fitness and recreation options

No matter where you are in your fitness journey, UM has a wide selection of spaces and facilities to suit your sports and recreation needs. Both Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses have options for physical activity, including the award-winning Active Living Centre and the Joe Doupe Recreation Centre.

Tuition reimbursement

Staff who are eligible for tuition reimbursement can apply the reimbursement to most of the UM courses offered at the undergraduate, graduate and professional development level.
