HR Immigration and Family Resources provides free, confidential relocation and settlement services for recently appointed foreign national academics, post-doctoral fellows and visiting scholars/professors. HR Immigration
The HR Immigration team at the University of Manitoba is comprised of licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) who provide expert guidance on employer-side immigration processes. Our consultants work collaboratively with faculties and departments to facilitate the recruitment and continued support of foreign national academics, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting scholars/academics.
HR Immigration provides assistance with:
- Processing LMIA applications using the University’s immigration employer portal
- Employer-side preparation for work permit applications and extensions
- International Mobility Program (LMIA exemption) processes
- General advice regarding permanent residency and citizenship pathways

Our Family Resources Coordinator is happy to meet with you to discuss settlement supports such as:
- Housing (short-term and long-term accommodations)
- Services for children, including schools, childcare and camps
- Spousal English as an Additional Language training opportunities
- City services and other community programs
