New Faculty orientation
Each fall we host a New Faculty Orientation for all new academics. This two-day event provides an overview of UM including strategic priorities, teaching, research and student supports.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Support Fund

The SoTL Support Fund provides opportunities for professors, instructors, and librarians to meaningfully engage in research projects that increase knowledge in pedagogy and learning.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Development Fund

The SoTL Development Fund supports scholars who are new to SoTL by providing opportunities to develop SoTL research skills and to engage with the SoTL community at UM and across Canada.

UM Student Reflections on Instruction (UM SRI)

A key part of our commitment to students and teaching excellence is the ongoing evaluation of courses by students. The UM SRI allows the opportunity for students to provide summative feedback for instructors on identified teaching priorities and gives instructors an opportunity to collect additional feedback for their own professional development.

The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning provides leadership, expertise and support for the teaching and learning mission of the University of Manitoba and advances and advocates for the practice and scholarship of teaching in higher education. Community Engagement Fund

The Community Engagement Fund provides support for activities that engage the university, its people and programs, with external constituencies that enhance the public good. The purpose of the fund is to enlarge and enrich the contacts between the University of Manitoba and all segments of the community.
