The Faculty of Social Work is working towards a world where there are no great inequalities of wealth or income, where economic and political power is more evenly distributed, where human need is the central value of distribution of society’s resources, where diversity of culture is celebrated, where people have greater control over their own lives and where all persons are afforded maximum opportunity to enrich their physical, spiritual, psychological, and intellectual well-being.

Programs of study

Our programs of study prepare students for ethical, competent, critically reflective, innovative, anti-oppressive, accountable and effective social work practice at all levels.

Student experience

We have numerous ways to support you during your studies, including advising, financial support, student groups and events.

Research

Our researchers collaborate with professionals across the world in an effort to promote social justice and enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Our goal is to advance the fields of social work practice and social policy, striving to promote respect for human rights and dignity, individual worth and wellbeing, diversity, social inclusion, and the principles of social justice.

Social Work Bulletin

Notice for applicants to the MSW, MSW-IK and PhD programs:

After the annual application deadline, applications are reviewed on a committee basis by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Once this process is complete, applications are sent to the Faculty of Social Work internal admissions committee. The Faculty of Social Work internal admissions committee reviews the applications and their decisions are sent to all applicants in March / April.
