Fort Garry campus clubs

Rec clubs offer the opportunity to participate in a sport of interest with a community of students, staff and alumni. Many clubs offer competitive and leisure options to fit any skill level. Each club needs a minimum of 65% student membership to promote strong student participation and leadership within the club.

    The Badminton club promotes the sport's social, competitive and leisure aspects by hosting various social and competitive events and tournaments.

  • Climbing

    The climbing club a non-instructional group of climbing fans practicing  bouldering. However, there will be periodic sessions on the ALC climbing wall.

  • Ringette

    The ringette club celebrates a game uniquely Canadian and competes in Ringette Manitoba’s Open Elite league and several other tournaments and championships.

    The Rugby club welcomes players of all skill levels to join their competitive tournament team. The perfect place to start learning the sport or hone your skills.

    Soccer is the world's most popular sport, played by over 250 million people in more than 200 countries, and now you can join in on the action at UM.

  • Synchro skate

    The Ice Intrepid Synchro Skating Team have competed as a Festival Junior and Open team across the country for over 20 years. Annual try-outs are in September.

    With opportunities to participate in regional tournaments, the tennis club welcomes both leisure and competitive players. Tryouts for both leisure and competitive are held at the beginning of each term.

    The ultimate club welcomes new players the opportunity to learn the sport and experienced players the chance to compete at regional and national university events.

  • Volleyball

    The volleyball club is a welcoming and fun environment for volleyball enthusiasts of varying skill levels. If you love playing volleyball or want to learn more about the sport this is the club for you.

    The wrestling club practices freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestling only. All other forms are strictly prohibited. Any interested participants are encouraged to visit a session for free prior to joining.

Register for a club

  • Step 1

    Create an account

    To register you will need to create an account through our registration portal.

    If you have already have a membership, please use your account email and password.

  • Step 2

    Register for a club

    For clubs that do not have tryouts please register online through our registration portal. Be sure to add the course to your cart when checking out and complete the waiver.

  • Step 3

    Contact the club

    Contact the president of your selected club for details about what equipment is needed, fees and other important information.

If you have difficulty logging on or resetting your password, please call customer service at 204-474-6100 for assistance.

After you have logged on:

  • Use the top menu bar to navigate to Categories and choose Rec Clubs.
  • Select the club you want to register in and add them to your cart, then click checkout.
  • This will prompt you to complete a waiver before you finish the registration.
  • Once submitted, you will be taken to the payment information to finalize your purchase.
  • Your browser may take a few moments to process. Do not press the back button, refresh, or close your browser. Once complete, you will see a message that says, "Your order has been completed."
