How to register for children and youth programs

Mini U Programs & Junior Bisons Registration Dates & Important Information

  • Winter program registration (including swimming lessons!) opens Wednesday, Oct. 30

    The virtual waiting room returns. Our winter opening registration day will feature a virtual waiting room to ensure an equitable and smooth process. 

    October 30 registration timeline

    • 11:50 a.m. to 11:59 a.m.: Virtual waiting room opens
    • 12:00 p.m.: Registration officially opens
      • Anyone who joined the virtual waiting room will be randomized and placed in the registration queue.
      • If you enter the queue after the randomization is complete, you will be placed at the back of the queue, in order of joining. 
      • When it's your turn, you will be admitted to the registration site and will be able to complete all registrations for your family.

  • Returning Customers:

    Log in to your account (please check to make sure you are logged in as the primary adult in your family group).
    Ensure you can view yourself and all your children in your family in one account. Verify that all of your children are listed in "My Groups".

  • New Customers:

    Please call us at (204) 474-6100 (before October 30) so that we can add all family members to your account and make sure it's set up correctly for you.

The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management recognizes that fees can pose a barrier when engaging children and youth in programming. Various subsidy opportunities are available to offer assistance. 

  • Personal information

    In order to best care for your child, our team requires additional personal information (i.e. child health information). Before your program begins, you will receive an email request for this information.

    A completed personal information form is required in order to participate in programming. If you have not received this email seven (7) days before the start of your program please reach out to our team via email mini.u@umanitoba.ca.

  • Subsidy

    The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management recognizes that fees can pose a barrier when registering children and youth in programming. Various subsidy opportunities are available to offer assistance.

  • "Group with" requests

    Many of our programs are split into multiple groups based on age. If you are interested in having your child grouped with another child, submit a "group with" request below. Group with requests are currently closed.

    All group requests must be made by the end of the day on Wednesday, the week before your child attends.

    We will do our best to accommodate the requests, but it may not be possible in some cases.
