St. Paul's College Annual Report

Paulinian Retrospective

Since 1941, the Paulinian (formerly The Crusader, 1941-1956) has been the official student newspaper of St. Paul’s College at the University of Manitoba. 2016 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Paulinian. To honour this incredible milestone, the Paulinian has published a special retrospective edition commemorating the history of both the Paulinian and St. Paul’s College through the words of our past students.

What better way to read about the Paulinian than from the people who made it possible? With over 65 Alumni involved, this edition features articles and notes from nearly all of the former editors, and many former contributors of the Paulinian, including three of the original staff from 1941.

This is a volume to treasure while waiting to see what the next 75 years has in store for the Paulinian and St. Paul’s College.

St. Paul's College: Facing the New Millennium

To celebrate its 90th Anniversary (1926-2016) St. Paul’s College published St. Paul’s College: Facing the New Millennium (2015, 448 pages) a sequel to its 1999 history of the College.

Students, faculty, staff, alum, and friends have collaborated to bring together accounts of the College’s activities and accomplishments past and present, and its exciting plans for the future.

Readers can enjoy colourful photography, engaging articles (some scholarly, others pithy). At the back are extensive lists of anyone who has served St. Paul’s since it began and a helpful subject and name index. The shelf-life of this volume promises to be a long one.

St. Paul’s College: Facing the New Millennium, can be purchased for $20 by contacting St. Paul's College at 204-474-8752.

Action, Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation: A Report of Canada's Catholic Colleges and Universities

  • Action Dialogue Truth and Reconciliation A Report of Canada's Catholic Colleges and Universities
  • Following on the heels of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s “Calls to Action,” the institutional members of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities of Canada (ACCUC) released a report in 2017 titled Dialogue Together With Action: Canada’s Catholic Colleges and Universities & the Road to Reconciliation. The report was launched in Ottawa on October 24, 2017, and presented to the past Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Senator Murray Sinclair. The national report was comprehensive and provided an account of the many actions already underway among the Canadian Catholic post-secondary institutions to promote and nurture Reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.

    On October 3, 2023, ACCUC released Action, Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation: A Report of Canada’s Catholic Colleges and Universities as a follow-up to the 2017 report. As per the initial report, this latest report provides concrete examples of work being done across Canada to promote Truth and Reconciliation, such as

    • Actions in strategic planning;
    • Revising our governance structures;
    • Expanding community relations; and
    • Promoting Reconciliation within our research activities and in our classrooms.

    While much work has been accomplished, our Catholic colleges and universities still have a long way to go.

    The Action, Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation: A Report of Canada’s Catholic Colleges and Universities is available on our St. Paul’s College website:
