Wilmot Lecture and Faith Horizons
Date: Friday, October 17th - Saturday, October 18th
Location: Robert Schultz Theatre
Join us for a two-day event exploring how God’s presence draws near in our lives and communities. This year’s Wilmot Lecture and Faith Horizons conference welcomes Dr. Collin Cornell, acclaimed theologian and author, as our keynote speaker.
The event begins on Friday, October 17 with an Opening Eucharist in the St John’s College Chapel, followed by the Wilmot Lecture in the Schultz Lecture Theatre at 7:30 PM. A reception in the Galleria will follow, offering an opportunity for conversation and connection.
On Saturday, October 18, we continue with Faith Horizons, a day of workshops, keynote addresses, and worship, diving deeper into the theme of “God Draws Near.” This is a rich opportunity to reflect, engage, and grow alongside fellow students, clergy, and community members.
Anglican Poetics Project Lecture Series
Date: Thursday, October 23rd - Thursday, December 4th
A scholarly lecture series exploring key figures and themes in the Anglican poetic tradition, featuring local poets and scholars, including St John’s College Fellows Dr. David Watt and Dr. Ryan Turnbull. Hosted at various churches throughout Winnipeg. Full schedule to be announced.
The Bell and the Bard: A Poetry Conference
Date: Saturday, November 1st
Time: 9:00AM - 4:00 PM
Location: St George's Anglican Church
The capstone event of the Anglican Poetics Project, this full-day conference features workshops led by poet Malcolm Guite and musician Steve Bell. The day includes lunch and concludes with an optional All Saints Mass in the evening, with Malcolm Guite preaching.
