Think about a time you agreed to do something you didn’t want to do. Sometimes we truly don’t have a choice (e.g., a reasonable work or school assignment). Other times, we struggle to say no or don’t feel entitled to say no. Saying no is an important part of boundaries—but healthy boundaries involve much more than refusal.
