Our scholarly communication strategy
Scholarly communication is dynamic with the publishing environment changing in so many ways, as new concepts and models are offering more options and alternatives to the traditional forms of scholarship. With these new modes of discovery and dissemination includes an expansion of contribution, values, and evaluation considerations.
A close partner of scholarly communication is the concept of open science or scholarship as scholarly communication supports alternative modes of scholarship in the name of expanding access to knowledge in all ways: to serve both the values of ‘open-ness’ and academic requirements.
Our scholarly communication strategy addresses the pursuit of scholarly expression as it relates publishing requirements by funders and publishers, providing options for dissemination in all its possible forms, and position UM faculty and students to manage and benefit from their recognized contributions.
