Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)

Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced a new requirement for the Study Permit application process requiring an additional document called the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). This page is to help current and future students to understand how to obtain it and other information that would pertain to their admission at the University of Manitoba.

Online info sessions

Whether you have officially been admitted or are still trying to decide which program you want to apply to, we offer a range of online events to help you prepare for university. Join us to learn about the steps to becoming a UM student, our diverse campus community and so much more!

Transfer credit information

We assess transfer credit after we have received your application, which includes your transcripts and course outlines. Each course is assessed by the applicable unit on campus and assigned a UM equivalent, if one exists. In some cases where an equivalent does not exist, you may receive general (unallocated) credit.
