Voice Canada
Are you interested in participating in aging-related research studies or contributing to research projects as they are developed?
Researchers are often looking for participants for their research studies. In addition, researchers also like to involve older adults in the creation of projects. The Centre on Aging at the University of Manitoba has started collaborating with McMaster University in Canada and Newcastle University in the United Kingdom on creating a research community with older adults and those working with older adults as members, called Voice Canada. On the Voice Canada platform there are many opportunities to learn, contribute and share your experience, wisdom and skills, including attending events or workshops, completing polls, as well as directly participating in research projects.
By becoming a member of Voice Canada, you would setup an account and provide a bit of information about yourself (e.g., contact information, age, gender).
By signing up as a member you are only consenting to sharing your information with the platform as a member.
From there it is up to you to decide whether you want to engage with any of the available opportunities which are posted to the platform. These could include research projects where you would be a participant. Each research project would have its own ethics protocol and specific requirements, and you can decide whether to participate based on the information that the researchers share with you. You are not obligated to participate in anything, and you can opt to delete your account (and therefore your data) from the platform at any time.
