I received my PhD from Princeton University's Program in Classical Philosophy in 2006, and started teaching at the University of Manitoba in 2007. My research focuses on ancient philosophy, especially Hellenistic philosophy (mostly Stoicism), and examines the relationship between virtue, knowledge and happiness. I am also interested in the development of moral concepts through the classical, Hellenistic, and early Christian periods, and on contemporary questions in moral psychology and ethics.
