Music & Art Competition

All University of Manitoba students are welcome to submit one two-dimensional art piece (wall pieces, prints, paintings, and photographs), less than a meter across. There is limited space for ceramics.

When submitting your piece, please include the following:

• Full Name
• Title of piece
• Artistic Medium
• Email
• Price - If you wish to sell

All art must be ready to hang from two anchor points using wire and s-hooks. We will not be able to accept pieces that are not ready to be hung on a picture rail system. 

All submissions can be dropped off in the General Office, 214 St John's College

Submission deadline is Monday, February 24, 2025 at 4:30pm

Art Exhibition and Voting

Art submissions will be displayed in the Daily Bread Cafe (100 St John's College) on February 28th at 9:30am.

Students, faculty and staff are able to vote on their favourite piece through a ballot box from March 3-April 6, 2025.

A judges panel will also select the top two winners based on artistic merit.

Date: April 7, 2025 at 12:30pm

On competition day, we will begin in the St John's College Chapel with live performances by the finalists of the Desautels Faculty of Music Competition. 

Audience members can vote on their favourite performance through a ballot box.

Celebration continues at the Daily Bread Cafe, where all winners from the Music & Art Competition will be announced!
