  • Core memories with your family start here!

Whether you want to have quality time with your kids extracting DNA from a strawberry, or you want to take the picture-of-the-year of them running on an oobleck pool, we have a booth for you!

In 2026, we hosted our biggest Science Rendezvous with over 60 science booths, and our volunteers were excited to welcome everyone and show them how fun science can be!

  • The theme for Science Rendezvous 2026 was IGNITE!

Science Rendezvous is always the best time to ignite your excitement, spark some joy, fuel your curiosity and feel the magic of science! Some of the booths in 2026 were:

    • "Atomic Curiosities", the booth where we used uranium glass, a Geiger counter and UV flashlights to explain how radioactivity works!
    • Rockets were a hot topic in every household. The UMSATS group had a satellite and a rocket on display!
    • Our Human-Computer Interaction research group opened its doors and showcased its research with robots using fun demonstrations, games and hands-on learning.

    And so much more!

Live science shows

Every year, we've had a popular line-up of science shows. In 2026, we hosted the Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Planetarium, and Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre shows!

  • Students presenting at the physics show.

    Physics Show, 2025

  • Some of our shows required registration (for free), 30 minutes before the event. Each year, information regarding showtimes and registration is available on our website as we get closer to Science Rendezvous.

We always do our best to host a non-ticketed show. For Science Rendezvous 2026, the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre show located outside on the Quad did not require a ticket. Attendees could learn about Manitoba's amazing wildlife, how to support nature, and meet the stars of the show, the animal ambassadors!
