Service Disruption – Dysart Road Lane Closure – August 21

Location:     Dysart Road, inside lane at Machray Hall

• Please be advised that the inside lane of Dysart Road near Machray Hall (see attached) will be closed to allow for the presence of a lift, on Friday, August 21, 7am – noon.

• One northbound lane will be open for traffic at all times
• Two southbound lanes will be open for traffic except during landscaping, when one lane may be closed
• All northbound and southbound lanes will be open for Winnipeg Blue Bomber games

• The west sidewalk and bike path will remain open during construction

• Starting Friday, August 14, the ramp from northbound Pembina Highway to eastbound Abinojii Mikanah will be open to traffic.

• Starting Wednesday, August 19, the right turn lane of the ramp from westbound Abinojii Mikanah to northbound Pembina Highway will be closed to trucks for approximately two weeks. Other traffic will remain able to turn.

• Please be advised that, as part of the gym flooring replacement in the Investor’s Group Athletic Centre (IGAC), contractors will be finishing the floor on Level 100 from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24, until 4 p.m. on Friday, September 4.

• The flooring product being applied emits a strong odour during application and curing. Because the buildings are connected, the odour may extend beyond the gym and into other areas or buildings.

• Maintenance is tentatively scheduled as follows:

  • Washrooms #162 and #165 will be out of service from 
    August 10 to August 24, 2026.
• During this period, the following alternative washrooms within the St. John’s College Building will be available:
  • On Level 100: washrooms #106, #109, #122, and #12

• Overview: Mechanical Contractor will proceed with the replacement of sanitary and storm sewer piping in the crawlspace of the Architecture II building, starting Monday, July 14, 2025. Access to the work area will be provided by exposing a portion of the existing foundation along the recessed courtyard at the north side of the building (Excavation Area 1). The adjacent area on the east side will also be excavated as required to connect the new lines to existing concrete pipes outside the building.

• Overview: The washrooms in rooms 113 and 114 of the Architecture 2 building are temporarily closed due to a breach in the crawl space drain line.
• The piping in the crawl space is being replaced by the contractor.
• We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we are working diligently to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
• We anticipate that substantial completion for this project will be achieved by the end of Summer 2026. Level 100 washrooms should be operational by early Fall 2026.
• In the meantime, we will post signs to direct you to the nearest available bathrooms in the building. Your understanding and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated.

Building: Basic Medical  Sciences Building

Overview: 

• Please be advised as part of the theatre upgrade project the contractor will be working in the interstitial space above the rooms shown below. 

• The work includes drilling and will be noisy at times .   

• Work will not begin until after 5pm daily.  

• Concerns about this noisy work should be brought to the attention of the project manager below.
