Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- explain the importance of needs assessment in developing and delivering effective educational
- programs
- select quantitative and qualitative performance data in order to determine current and desired performance
- identify barriers to effective performance and use tools to determine the cause of the performance gaps
- select the solutions to close performance gaps, including non-training and training options, while considering the resources available
- write and present the needs assessment report to secure support for implementing the recommended solutions
- integrate the needs assessment findings into program design, course delivery, transfer of learning, and the evaluation plan
- describe alternatives to needs assessment and the advantages and disadvantages of each
