Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- interpret and use appropriately key term expressions pertaining to labour relations
- outline the history of the Canadian labour relations environment and the systems that enable it to function today
- apply the laws pertaining to labour relations and the workplace in general
- describe the process of how an organization may become unionized
- demonstrate an understanding of third party dispute resolutions, including the various roles of parties in reaching a solution
- identify and apply effective management strategies that work within the bounds of a collective agreement, including the principles of progressive discipline
- explain the union-management relationship and describe the process of how it may become harmonious
