Assessment of Academic Advising (CUCA 0152)

Participants in this course will develop a definition of academic advising for their advising unit. They will set advising outcomes for students, advisors, and advising units and design a program of assessment for an advising unit. Students will also learn how to continue to use the program of assessment once it is developed.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • understand the steps involved in developing an assessment plan of advising
  • develop the tools to begin an assessment plan in their advising units
  • produce a proposal for an assessment of an advising program at their home institutions
  • share best practices and knowledge about assessment with advisors from other institutions
