Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

- understand the history, terminology, principles, and strategies underlying BIM
- identify BIM practices and standards in the construction industry, and analyze their impact throughout the lifecycle of a building or a facility
- understand how BIM fits into different project delivery types
- understand the digital asset lifecycle
- understand the various BIM-focused organizations and their influence on the industry
- understand how project estimating, planning, and management take place on a BIM project
- understand how BIM can be used to improve environmental challenges, including sustainability
