Dr. Virginia Tze is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Administration, Foundations, and Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in school and clinical child psychology from the University of Alberta and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining the faculty, Dr. Tze practiced as a school psychologist in St. James-Assiniboia School Division and Louis Riel School Division. Her research focuses on academic emotions, social-emotional learning, emotional management, control-value theory, self-regulation, motivation, cultural diversity, and secondary data analysis. She often uses meta-analysis, mediation analysis, structural equation modelling, and latent analyses in her research investigation. Dr. Tze has published articles in peer-reviewed international journals, such as Research Papers in Education and Current Psychology. Dr. Tze has received competitive external funding for her research; this includes an Early Career Research Grant from American Psychological Association Division 15 and an Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Dr. Tze is also a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Psychological Association of Manitoba, and a certified school psychologist with Manitoba Education.
