I was born and educated in Winnipeg, Manitoba. My graduate advisor was Dr. Joseph J. Pear, with whom I studied computer-aided instruction and basic learning processes in Siamese fighting fish. In the late 1990s I began supporting Drs. C. T. Yu and Garry Martin at St. Amant, which is Manitoba's largest service provider for persons living with developmental disabilities and autism. I started in my faculty position at UM in 2015.
I develop projects that: (a) answer real questions posed by service providers in the field of developmental disabilities, (b) provide meaningful training to graduate students in our area, and (c) leverage my experience and training in behaviour analysis. Topics addressed have included behavioural intervention outcomes, mindfulness training for caregivers, and promoting social connection for persons with disabilities.
