A native of Italy, Paolo Matteucci has taught Italian language, literature, cinema and culture at the university level both in Canada and in the United States. He has a strong interest in methodologies of Action-research in teaching Italian as a foreign language, and he has published articles and reports on teaching, a book on the porosity of the Franco-Italian border in 19th and 20th century Italian, French and English literature, and several essays on autopoiesis, literature, and Italian neorealism. He also authored several translations from French and English into Italian, including an interview to Abenaki Canadian-American film-maker Olanis Obomsawin.
