Attended St. John's High in Winnipeg, was elected President, and was awarded the Governor General Medal. Obtained BA and MA at University of Manitoba and PhD at University of Alberta. Research for the MA degree was with John Zubek, and his PhD with Joseph Royce at the University of Alberta. His research has focused on the issues of psychological measurement, and his Dissertation focused on an analysis of tests of human brain damage. He joined the Department of Psychology at the University of Manitoba in 1965 and was active in provincial and University functions. He was Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, from 1974 to 1978, and was Acting Dean from 1978-79. He acted as Associate Head for Graduate Studies in the Department of Psychology 1981-83. He applied for Senior Scholar appointment upon retirement, and was appointed as Adjunct Professor at Saint Mary's University in addition in 2011.
My research has focused on exploring the issues of psychological measurement with a view to providing an integrative framework based on the basic concepts of standard system theory. Elements of the theory were published in Applied Psychological Measurement, the Journal of Applied Measurement, a comment in American Psychologist. and Review of General Psychology.
