Karin James is a Senior Instructor in the Department of German and Slavic Studies, teaching German language and translation. Prior to joining the University of Manitoba in 2006, she headed up the MGLE German School in Winnipeg as principal, taught adult and high school courses and served as a visiting instructor at the University of Winnipeg's Department of Modern Languages. She continues to serve as Provincial Examiner for German for the Manitoba Department of Education and as a member of the Examination Committee for the “Sprachdiplom” offered by Germany's Central Agency for Schools Abroad. Her extensive experience as a certified translator for government agencies and private enterprise provides her translation courses with an authentic approach.
