Dr. Ashley Chung-Fat-Yim joined the Psychology Department at the University of Manitoba in January 2025. Prior to joining the department, Ashley was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University. Her research program focuses on the cognitive consequences of learning and knowing more than one language. Specifically, she investigates the impact of bilingualism on executive function, language, emotion perception, and narrative transportation using a variety of research techniques, including behavioural, EEG, and mouse tracking.
